Academic Policies

Attendance Policy

Regular Attendance: Students are expected to attend all classes regularly.

Absence Notification: Parents must notify the school by 8:00 AM on the day of absence.

Medical Certificate: Required for absences exceeding 3 consecutive days.

Late Arrival: Students arriving after 8:00 AM must report to the office.

Early Dismissal: Requires written permission from parents and approval from the principal.

Homework Policy

Primary School: 30-45 minutes per day, Monday to Thursday.

Secondary School: 1-2 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Purpose: Reinforce classroom learning and develop study habits.

Parent Support: Parents should provide a quiet study environment.

Late Submission: 10% deduction per day unless medically excused.

Assessment Policy

Formal Assessments: Two tests and one examination per term.

Continuous Assessment: Classwork, projects, and participation.

Weighting: Tests 40%, Exams 50%, Continuous 10%.

Supplementary Exams: Available for students scoring 40-49%.

Progress Reports: Issued at the end of each term.

Promotion Policy

Primary School: Minimum 50% in Language and Mathematics.

Secondary School: Minimum 40% in 3 subjects including Home Language.

FET Phase: Must meet NSC requirements for progression.

Condensed Promotions: Considered on case-by-case basis.

Repetition: Maximum of one year per phase.

Code of Conduct

School Rules

  • Respect for teachers, staff, and fellow students
  • Punctuality and regular attendance
  • Proper school uniform at all times
  • No bullying, fighting, or intimidation
  • Respect for school property

Uniform Policy

  • Complete uniform required daily
  • Clean and neat appearance
  • Proper footwear (black school shoes)
  • No jewelry except watches
  • Natural hair color and simple styles

Discipline Policy

  • Verbal warnings for minor offenses
  • Written warnings for repeated offenses
  • Detention for serious misconduct
  • Parent meetings for behavioral issues
  • Suspension/expulsion for severe cases

Admissions Policy

Admission Requirements

Age Requirements: Grade 0 - 5 years turning 6 by 30 June.

Previous Reports: Last school report for transfer students.

Birth Certificate: Certified copy required.

Immunization Card: Up-to-date vaccination record.

Parent ID: Copy of parent/guardian ID document.

Proof of Address: Utility bill or lease agreement.

Assessment: Placement assessment may be required.

Admission Process

Step 1: Complete application form with required documents.

Step 2: Pay non-refundable application fee of R500.

Step 3: Attend placement assessment if required.

Step 4: Receive admission decision within 7 working days.

Step 5: Accept offer by paying registration fee.

Step 6: Complete enrollment forms and fee agreement.

Step 7: Attend orientation before school starts.

Fee Policy

Registration Fee: R1,500 (once-off, non-refundable).

Grade 0-7: R700 per month (payable in advance).

Grade 8-11: R1,100 per month (payable in advance).

Grade 12: R1,500 per month (payable in advance).

Payment Method: Debit order or EFT preferred.

Late Payment: 10% penalty after 5th of month.

Discount: 5% for annual payment or 3+ siblings.

Withdrawal Policy

Notice Period: One calendar month written notice.

Final Payment: Fees for notice period still payable.

School Records: Transfer card issued on clearance.

Refunds: No refunds for payments already made.

Outstanding Fees: Must be settled before records released.

Textbooks: All school property must be returned.

Exit Interview: Required to provide feedback.
